Govt. P.G. College Rishikesh is the only college in the state of Uttarakhand to have been conferred the Grade “A” by NAAC. Moreover it was also established as Centre of excellence by the Uttarakhand government. The UGC conferred the “College with Potential for Excellence” status in 2006.    Govt. P.G. College, Rishikesh is the only government institution in Dehradun district, which caters to the needs of more than 5000 regular students. Of these 2000 students appear for the final exam of the third year at the UG level and 1500 students appear take their PG exam. Moreover the students of the institutions at Doiwala, Haridwar, Laksar, Roorkee and Dehradun may be benefited by the commencement of this secondary education programme
