You will be glad to know that Uttarakhand Technical University will be holding its Second Convocation on Saturday 11th December, 2010 at 11:45 a.m. in the Convocation Hall, Forest Research Institute, Dehradun. This function will be presided over by Hon.ble Governor, Smt Margret Alva as Chancellor of the University. Dr. Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank Hon.ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand will be the
Chief Guest on the occasion.

During the Convocation, the Degree/Certificates will be awarded to those students who have successfully qualified for the “Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) and who have topped various programmes will be awarded Gold Medals. Besides this degree, will be awarded to those students who secure more than 65% marks in their respective courses. Students who have obtained less than 65% marks can collect their degrees from their college.

For this function, the Chairman/Directors/Principal/Professors of affiliated colleges/institutes are cordially invited. They are further requested to kindly wear the convocation gown as applicable.  All the invitees are requested to kindly occupy their seats by 11:30 A.M. positively.

All the eligible students are advised to take note of the following for necessary information and compliance:

I. Schedule of the Convocation: The details of programme will be available with your respective institute and this will also be available on the University website www.uktech.ac.in. A Convocation Cell. will be operated w.e.f 25/11/2010. In the office of the COE to provide necessary information. Prof. R.K. Singh will be the incharge of the convocation cell. II. Prior Intimation: You may please give your details on the prescribed form (See Appendix ‘A’) to your respective Institute stating clearly whether you wish to receive the Degree Certificate and Gold Medal „in person. or in absentia.. Those who wish to receive in person must fill up the Admit Card. (Please See Appendix-B’), and submit it to your respective institute latest by
28/11/2010 for their verification and attestation. The students will collect the Admit Cards duly authenticated from the office of COE latest by 08/12/2010 Students without proper Admit Card any student will NOT be allowed to attend rehearsal and Convocation.

III. Rehearsal: For orderly conduct of convocation, a full dress rehearsal will be conducted on 10th December, 2010 at 10.30 A.M. All the students of Ph.D. and Gold Medalist must attend this rehearsal.

(a) Reporting: Awardees are requested to report at Rehearsal Counters established in the Convocation Hall, FRI, Dehradun at 09.30 A.M. and get their seat in the Convocation Hall.

(b) Convocation Gowns: All the students will compulsorily wear gowns, which will be available on hire from the “Gown Counters” established in the Venue on December 10/12/2010. The gowns will be issued against deposit of Rs. 500/-per gown as Security (refundable). If the Gowns are not deposited by 7.00 PM on December 10, 2010, full security charges will be forfeited.

(c) Conduct:

(i) The rehearsal will be held in the FRI Convocation Hall on 10th December, 2010 at 10.30 A.M.

(ii) The students will attend the rehearsal with their gowns on. and occupy their allotted seats strictly as per Seats Allocation which will be prominently displayed outside the FRI Convocation Hall.

(iii) You are requested to park your vehicle at appropriate place which university will make suitable arrangements which will be intimated through respective institutes, university convocation cell as well as on university web site.

(iv) You are requested not to be bring any brief case, bag, matchbox and mobile phone inside the “Convocation Hall”. You are advised to make your own arrangements for safe custody of your belongings as the University will find it difficult to arrange the same.
